NATCA Slate Contract Now Available: Full Searchable Text for Air Traffic Controllers
We're excited to announce a new feature on ATC Toolkit: the complete NATCA Slate Contract is now available as a fully searchable online reference. Air traffic controllers can now quickly find any article, section, or keyword in the collective bargaining agreement between NATCA and the FAA.
What is the NATCA Slate Contract?
The NATCA Slate Contract is the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This contract governs working conditions, pay, benefits, leave policies, and much more for air traffic controllers employed by the FAA.
The contract covers critical topics including:
- Recognition and union rights (Articles 1-5)
- Hours of work and overtime (Articles 22-26)
- Leave policies including annual, sick, and FMLA leave (Articles 27-33)
- Pay and compensation (Articles 44-50)
- Training and certification (Articles 51-54)
- Discipline and grievance procedures (Articles 8-15)
- Facility staffing and transfers (Articles 55-60)
Instant Search Across All Articles
Our new instant search feature lets you find exactly what you're looking for in seconds. Simply type a keyword or phrase, and results appear as you type with matching terms highlighted in yellow.
How the Search Works
- Type any keyword in the search bar (e.g., "overtime", "leave", "training")
- See results instantly with article numbers, titles, and content previews
- Click any result to jump directly to that article
- Highlighted matches help you find the exact text you searched for
The search supports multi-word queries too. Searching for "bargaining representative" will find all articles mentioning those terms, making it easy to research specific topics.
Mobile-Friendly Design
Whether you're at a facility, in the break room, or at home, the Slate Contract reference works seamlessly on any device. The mobile-optimized interface includes:
- Floating menu button for quick navigation between articles
- Dedicated search button for mobile searches
- Responsive layout that adapts to any screen size
- Fast loading even on slower connections
